 ASSOCIATIONS
Arcigay is one of the most important gay associations in Italy .
Its registered office is in Bologna, Via Don Minzoni 18, Tel 051/6493055
Fax 051/5282226. The national president is Sergio Lo Giudice, and
the honorary president is Franco Grillini (www.francogrillini.it),
the most popular gay politician in Italy, also member of the national
Parliament since 2002.
Arcigay has 33 local political groups throughout the country : the
largest and more active ones are in Bologna (www.cassero.it),
Milan (www.arcigaymilano.org)
and Tuscany (www.gaytoscana.it).
Arcigay can also boast 57 recreational private groups like bars,
saunas and discos among its members.

for the recreational associations members of Arcigay. To access
to these groups groups (even in the Arcigay's bars , saunas and
discos) the costumer, also when foreigner , must be member of the
national association: the membership card can be made directly in
these places, and costs 14 euro. Please note that a membership card
dedicated to foreigners, at much cheaper price, is available. This
card is only valid for a short term instead of the hole year, hence
the bargain price, so it perfectly suits the needs of the traveller.
Arcilesbica is the womens' national association and has registered
office in Bologna, Via Don Minzoni 18, Tel 051/6493055. Please consult

Several associations that are not members of the above mentioned
are also very important; it's the case of an historical group in
Rome under the name Mario Mieli, www.mariomieli.org,
who was the organizer of the World GLBT Pride in year 2000.
Gays' and lesbians' parents and friends have formed an association
under the name of AGEDO, with official website at www.agedo.org
